"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
I work with adults and couples on such issues as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss, loneliness, identity worries, and thoughts or behaviours that worry you. I also have an interest in Emotional Regulation and have 6 years’ experience working therapeutically with obsessive behaviours using Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) which is a highly effective approach for understanding and managing intense emotions. I worked for 3 years in a Women’s Centre counselling women who had experienced trauma, a community counselling service focussing on bereavement, and during Covid 19 I worked with NHS staff experiencing burn out. For the last 4 years I have also been a clinical supervisor supporting other counsellors.
I have an interest in learning and development and I regularly attend additional training events to update my own skills. I support student counsellors, regularly working alongside clients who are undertaking counselling training. I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds, identities and beliefs and strive to offer an inclusive practice.
