Debbie Wilson Counselling

Therapeutic counsellor and trained clinical supervisor, working with adults and couples in Godalming (nEAr. guilDford, Surrey) and online throughout THE UK

Supervision

Alongside my private practice, I offer qualified clinical supervision for counsellors. Sessions are available in person in a comfortable private garden room, as well as online via Zoom and Teams. I currently have openings for qualified counsellors and trainees on placement.

About Me and My Therapy Practice

Welcome to my supervision practice. I am a qualified and experienced supervisor passionate about supporting individual counsellors, wellbeing coaches, and groups in creating a reflective and growth-focused space for the vital and often challenging work we do with clients.

My aim is to provide a safe, collaborative space where we can explore your work together, always keeping the client's needs at the forefront of our discussions. I work alongside you to support your practice, facilitate reflection on your learning, and help you meet your developmental goals. My approach primarily draws on Hawkins' Seven-Eyed Model, which serves as a systemic lens to examine the various dynamics in client work within an ethical framework that respects the core values of counselling.

In addition to my private practice, I have extensive experience supervising health and wellbeing coaches, social prescribers, volunteers, and behaviour change practitioners, particularly those working within the criminal justice system. I also provide clinical supervision for counselling interventions within the NHS.

To ensure that our supervision continues to meet your evolving needs, I conduct regular reviews of our work together.

My fees are £55 for a one-hour session or £82.50 for a 1.5-hour monthly supervision. I also welcome trainee counsellors and offer "top-up" supervision for those currently on placement.

Practice Description

I bring a wealth of experience across a broad range of issues, and my approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on multiple therapeutic techniques tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I have also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), a highly effective approach for understanding and managing intense emotions.

In addition to individual therapy, I specialise in relational issues and hold a Diploma in Relationship Counselling from Relate, allowing me to work confidently with couples and supervise those practicing couples therapy.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years supporting children and families within statutory social care, which has given me extensive experience in managing and assessing risk in private practice. My background includes counselling trauma survivors at a Women’s Centre, working within a community counselling service, and volunteering for Frontline19 during the Covid-19 pandemic to support frontline workers.
